Learning Facilities

Most buildings in the school are painted in the interior with their exterior physically identified with their red face bricks. The school has twelve ordinary classrooms. There are also equipped specialist rooms within the school for specialised subjects which are;

  • Junior science laboratory (ZJC)
  • Senior science laboratory (O’ Level)
  • A’ Level state of the art science Laboratories cater for Physics, Chemistry and Biology with its first A’ Level Science intake.
  • Geography Lab
  • Library
  • Agriculture office and fowl runs
  • Home Economics Block with Fashion Fabrics and Food Nutrition classes
  • Computer Laboratory
  • Building Shed
  • Culture Hut

Computer laboratory

In line with National Goals of implementing e-learning in schools there is a laboratory at David Livingstone Secondary School. There are 21 computers with twenty (20) functional computers available for learners while, two are being used by the Administration. The school has two laptops of which one was won by the school’s Public Speaking Club in 2015 Competition and the other one is used for examination registration data processing. There is a screen and projector meant to facilitate the delivery of all subjects and lessons. Computer Studies as a subject was first examined at ‘O’ level in 2015 by ZIMSEC and 100% was attained in the subject.

Library

The school has a library with a compliment of more than 2 000 books run by the English Department. Leaners access it during their free periods and after school. There is a need to revamp the laboratory to match the current modern studies

Furniture

Adequate provision and access to furniture for learners and staff members is a priority within the school therefore, each year, furniture particularly for pupils is beefed up. The school drives towards meeting a critical need of assisting learners needs in the following statistics;

  • Form 1 and 2 use a single chair and single desk per individual
  • Form 3 and 4 use a single chair and single desk per individual
  • Advanced Level learners also use a single chair and single desk
  • Teachers have chairs and desks in the staffroom
  • School offices are fully furnished. Therefore, the school has adequate furniture.
